Bangus Belly Bistek: This Filipino Dish Will Have You Asking For Extra Rice

Bangus Belly Bistek

Prepare to unbutton your pants.

We found the best companion for your heaping bowl of rice – bistek tagalog. For this recipe, we used bangus belly cooked in soy sauce and calamansi juice with onion rings. By replacing beef strips with bangus belly, you can have all the healthy fat along with all its benefits.

Despite its simplicity, this dish perfectly combines the tenderness of bangus with the citrus flavor of calamansi, sweetness of onions, and saltiness of soy sauce. Amid the endless choice of companions for rice, this recipe feels like finding love in a hopeless place (yes, like the pop song).
